What conference brings together data scientists, artists, financial-types, storytellers, and hard core coders? Only a visionary company like Tableau. Tableau Software’s annual conference hosted more than 16,000 attendees this year in the Ernest N Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Attendees were treated to local specialties including a Mardi Gras parade, beignets, gumbo, and more. The entertainment culminated in a grand party on the grounds of the New Orleans Saints beloved Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Attendees were inspired to celebrate their inner data rockstar in witty-named sessions like ‘Gettin’ vizzy with it’, ‘Think outside the box(plot)’, ‘Jedi calcs’, ‘Mad Maps’, and ‘Big Easy data security.’ Keynote speakers dished on upcoming features in development and generated excitement with concepts like auto-data modeling, data prep scheduling via Tableau Server, custom data cleansing rules, natural language query. Tableau developers spoke on topics still in early stage like animation.
Missed out on conference? Not to worry because Tableau has shared a significant portion of the conference sessions online. And if you’re up for a trip to Las Vegas next year, registration is already open for next year’s conference.
